Luck is like lightning, you are never sure where it’s going to strike next. A lucky couple from the UK, the retired Neil Hosford and his wife Maureen can testify to this. They decided to take a free bus service into the city from Dumfries and stocked up on some scratch cards while they were at it.
It was only when they got on the bus for their journey back that Maureen tried the scratch card and struck gold in the process. Mr. Neil Hosford said that his wife decided to buy two extra tickets on a whim before they had to get back to the bus. At first he really found it hard to believe that his wife had actually won a quarter of a million pounds.
They had difficulty to hide their excitement on the bus but they wanted to keep the win a secret until they could tell their children and three grandchildren. They phoned the kids on their mobile and confirmed their jackpot win once they arrived home safely. The secret did not last long however, because as soon as anyone heard, the news spread like wildfire.
The couple has decided that they would like to spend this large sum of money on renovating their home. Neil said that the money could not have come at a better time. So far the couple has experienced a very difficult year as he broke his leg, his wife contracted cancer, and his son-in-law lost his job.

All you need to play is a pound or two and something to scratch off the panels on the scratch card. You then have to show your card to the company involved to claim your prize.
